Position:
Leadership Coordinator
Position Description:
Duties include: Plan, implement, and evaluate various leadership
programming functions for the Student Involvement & Employment Office.
Responsible for researching current trends in student leadership. Assist in the
evaluation of current campus leadership offerings. Serve as the primary
coordinator for the multi-level, campus leadership program, Connect4Succes,
utilizing known leadership models. Work to enhance the campus leadership
program through collaborations with students, organizations, faculty and staff.
Initiate and maintain a student advisory board to gather student input on
various leadership options. Assist with bi-annual re-recognition process for
student organizations to include risk management and policy education.
Serve as the primary contact for the UWSP Social Greek community. The UWSP Greek community consists of 4 national fraternities, 1 national sorority, and 2 local sororities. Duties include: serving as the advisor to the umbrella organization(s) for social greek organizations (attend executive and general member meeting, retreats, programs, meet with officers on a regular basis); assist with the administration and results distribution of the bi-annual Greek Experience Survey; provide on-going training to executive board members, chapter leaders, and organization advisors; train and advise the Greek judicial board proceedings.
Supervise student staff (web weaver, graphic designer, and promotions) in the creation and maintenance of comprehensive marketing plan for all S!EO programs and service functions. Responsible for developing and supervising the leadership programming, Greek Affairs and promotional staff budgets. Assist with various employment and leadership programming functions for the Student Involvement and Employment Office. Activities will include but will not be limited to: student leadership programming, advisor trainings, Student Employment Week activities, volunteer opportunities, Senior Survey distribution and leadership/employment awards. Attend bi-weekly Centers staff meetings and S!EO staff meetings. Serve on at least one University Centers committee.
This position requires frequent evening and occasional weekend work.
Department/University Description:
The Student Involvement and Employment Office, under the umbrella of the
University Centers, administers a comprehensive student involvement network that
offers work, service, and leadership opportunities designed to provide
experiential education and teach the principals of wellness.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, plus three years of relevant
professional, work experience related to Leadership and Greek Life. Experience
in developing and implementing campus-wide leadership programs for college
students. Demonstrated student supervisory and training experience.
Demonstrated ability in working with both student organizations and individuals
on leadership development. Direct experience in communicating with national
greek chapter organizations. Ability to understand and interpret policies,
rules and regulations and knowledge of risk management issues related to Greek
life. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a
demonstrated ability in public speaking.
Preferred
qualifications:
Master’s degree in a student personnel related field. Demonstrated
understanding of various web development platforms, graphic design processes,
and marketing principles. Experience in supervising graphics and/or web
personnel.

June 2, 2008
Terms of Employment:
This is a 12-month, fixed-term, academic staff appointment. Salary is
commensurate with qualifications and experience.
