Position:
Psychologist/Counselor (EAP/Outreach Emphasis)
Position Description:|
50% of time delivering counseling services to the campus community to
include crisis intervention, assessment, individual therapy, and consultation.
50% of time managing the Employee Assistance Program, providing outreach activities to the campus community and acting as a University contact to the hospital.
Department/University Description:
The Counseling Center also includes Testing Services and the Employee
Assistance Program. There are currently three full time academic year
psychologist/counselors, one part time psychologist, and a part time consulting
physician.
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is a comprehensive regional university with approximately 8,800 undergraduate and 440 graduate students. Our College of Natural Resources is one of the largest undergraduate natural resources programs in the country. UWSP is consistently ranked as one of the top public universities in the Midwest. We are located in the heart of central Wisconsin, midway between Milwaukee and Minneapolis.
The city of Stevens Point has a population of about 25,000 and the adjacent village of Plover has an additional 11,000. The area is known for its miles of beautiful scenery for hiking and biking with an abundance of well maintained trails and parks. The Wisconsin River and area lakes offer miles of serene settings for unlimited recreational opportunities. Stevens Point is in the top ten of the “Top 100 Places To Live” by Relocate AmericaTM.
Qualifications:
Doctorate in counseling/clinical psychology preferred; master’s degree
in counseling/psychology/social work may be considered. Licensed in the State
of Wisconsin or license-eligible with expectation of acquiring licensure within
two years of hire. Internship experience in a university counseling center or
other supervised experience in college student mental health is preferred.
