Position:
Wisconsin Environmental Education Foundation (WEEF) Program/Development Coordinator
Position Description:
This is a .50 FTE position that will serve as the primary program coordinator and development officer for the Wisconsin Environmental Education Foundation.
This is a staff position of the Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education.
The responsibilities of the position are to develop, administer and coordinate programs of the WEEF.
The WEEF is a program of the Wisconsin Environmental Education Board which is administered and facilitated by the Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education.
Duties (In Order of Importance):
Program Development Coordinator – 70%, Public Relations – 15%,
Supervision – 5%
(Personnel & Partners),
Budget & Finance – 10%.
Department/University Description:
The Wisconsin legislature created the WCEE, in 1991, with a mission to promote, develop and evaluate the environmental education in the K-12 schools of Wisconsin. The WCEE was placed in the CNR at UWSP.
The College of Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point offers premier undergraduate natural resources programs emphasizing integrated resource management and has 1400 undergraduates, 120 graduate students, and over 100 faculty and staff. UWSP is located in Stevens Point on the Wisconsin River, almost precisely in the center of the state. It is the only four-year degree-granting institution in north-central Wisconsin, offering 54 undergraduate majors, and master’s degrees in 12 programs. Enrollment is over 9000 students, who are currently served by 361 faculty, 398 academic/administrative staff, and 413 classified staff members. The 400-acre campus contains both historic and contemporary buildings in an attractively landscaped setting, bounded on one side by a 275-acre nature preserve including a 24-acre lake.
Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Environmental Education or related field.
Relevant experience in fundraising, public relations, budget and finance is preferred.
