Rebecca Stephens
I currently teach introductory writing and dramatic literature courses for the UWSP English Department. These courses are often linked to my research interests in film and contemporary ethnic American literature and are always guided by my teaching philosophy of student participation. Small and large group discussion, multimedia use, and group presentations are the norm for both my writing and literature classes.
I am also interested in instructional technologies; my English 102 classes frequently meet in computer labs for writing instruction and employ other methods of on-line learning. This interest stems from my experience as a technical writer and corporate computer training consultant prior to attending Washington State University, where I received my Ph.D. I am originally from Michigan and received an M.A. in Literature and a B.B.A. degree in Accountancy and Computer Information Systems from Western Michigan University.
