Biography
Laurie Schmeling teaches Freshman English (ENGL 101 and 102) and coordinates the School of Education’s Professional Writing Competency Program. In past semesters at UWSP, Laurie has also taught Theatre Appreciation (THEA 105), Script Analysis (THEA 162), and Introduction to the Art of Film (COMM 160). She is pursuing her PhD at Indiana University and earned her MA (Theatre History, Literature, and Criticism) at Ohio State University and her BA (English) at St. John’s University, New York. Her teaching and research interests include composition theory and practice, American musical theatre and film, Irish drama, and genre studies.
