About Me

Biography
After receiving myAssociate Degree I worked in the insurance industry until April 1986. At that time I decided to stop working to be at home with our children. In 2000 I made the decision to return to school and began my education at the UW Marathon County, where I was a tutor in the Writing Lab. I transferred to the UW Stevens Point in 2003, where I received my B.A. and an M.S.T. in English. I was the Graduate Assistant at the UWSP for the 2008/2009 academic year. I graduated in May of 2009 and began instructing at the UWSP in the Fall of 2009. The courses I instruct focus on contemporary issues within our society in order to help foster understandings of race and culture, while focusing on a writing curriculum which promotes the fundamental qualities needed to communicate in a written format ideas and theories of the individual.

I enjoy studying late 19th century British and American Literature, focusing on gender and racial issues. In 1997 I began a charitable organization in memory of two of our daughters, which continues today helping children and families in need in Marathon County. I am an active board member of the Wausau Festival of Arts. My family enjoys tennis, western horsemanship, fishing, water and snow sports.
