Ice/Slippery Floors/Snow
Secure or isolate the area if possible.
Contact Housing Maintenance at ext. 2397 to correct the problem. Post signs to warn others of the condition. Remind yourself and others to wear shoes offering slip resistance in the winter months as entry ways, stairs and halls will at times be wet and slippery because of tracked-in snow and slush.

Refer to the UWSP Inclement Weather Policy, which can be obtained from the Personnel Office at ext. 2606 in the event of a major ice/sleet/snow storm.

Flooding
In these circumstances, take charge to assure and see that someone will:
  • secure or isolate the area if possible
  • post signs to warn others of the condition
  • contact Housing Maintenance at ext. 2397
Contact Housing Facilities at ext. 2397 or Protective Services at ext. 3456 if a room or hall is flooded. Do not enter an area where electrical equipment or service may be under water.

Odors
Contact Protective Services at ext. 3456
if strange odors should arise and the cause cannot be determined.

Others
Secure the area, post signs and correct the problem as soon as possible using hall staff/summer conference staff.

Note:
Carbon monoxide gas can kill without warning. Therefore, never operate a gas/kerosene/diesel powered device or burn charcoal inside of a building.
