Picture (22x22, 1.2Kb) Report outages immediately to Physical Plant at ext. 4219 during regular business hours or Protective Services at ext. 3456 during other times.
Picture (22x22, 1.2Kb) Follow directions received from your supervisor.
Picture (22x22, 1.2Kb) Occupants should notify Protective Services of persons trapped in elevators or equipment that may present a hazard upon re-energization of the building.
Picture (22x22, 1.2Kb) Supervising staff/faculty must decide whether to dismiss staff/students in the event of an extended failure.

Note: No one should be in a work area that has no light. This violates state safety law. If the condition exists, move people to an area with at least minimal light (enough to locate an exit path).

Picture (26x26, 1.1Kb) Have a flashlight available in the event that emergency lighting fails. If it does, check unlit rooms/halls/bathrooms to see if someone needs assistance.
Picture (26x26, 1.1Kb) Lab users should follow these precautions:
  • Put vital equipment on emergency power circuits if available.
  • Make a list of equipment that must be reset or re-started.
  • Keep fume hood sashes closed and all containers capped.
  • Check cold storage items. Use dry ice if necessary.
