These are the official resources for the SOE Portfolio. Be careful: you may find other resources in other places. Those resources may be out-of-date or incorrect.

Live Help

There are several places to get help with your portfolio. All are free, optional, and friendly. Be careful: it can be hard to get help near the end of the semester, when these places get overwhelmed with students.

    • Drop-in lab for all SOE students & graduates, especially students in EDUC 200, EDUC 300, & EDUC 400

Artifact Cover Page

All students are encouraged to add cover pages to their artifacts. If you took EDUC 200 before Summer 2008, you aren't required to add cover pages. However, an instructor may require them.

About SOE Portfolios

The UWSP Professional Portfolio templates aligns with the Department of Public Instruction PI 34 Rules related to teacher preparation and teacher licensure.  The portfolio templates have been created to showcase each student's work as related to the Wisconsin Teaching Standards and to serve as a tool in the career search process. The templates have been designed so that they may also be useful also to Initial Educators as they are developing Professional Development Plans and evidence related to Wisconsin and National Teaching Standards.

Version Tracking

This is a list of major changes to the SOE Portfolio Framework, since Kym Buchanan took over managing the framework.

2007-B

  • Released June 5, 2007
  • Used by EDUC 200, Summer, 2007
  • Added version tracking to page comments ("2007-B")
  • Added ALT info to official images
  • Added _images folder, with official subfolder
  • PortfolioTitle.gif edited to serve as initial breadcrumb (right side is now an arrowhead)
  • Added general_style.css and offloaded most in-page formatting to this external style sheet
  • Removed all table-based alignment & position hacks; pages are now default-aligned (i.e., left-justifed)
  • Added teacher_standards.htm to framework, with link from Instructional Strategies
  • Added link from Subject Knowledge directly to DPI website

2007-A

  • Released January 22, 2007; Revised February 20, 2007
  • Used by EDUC 200, Spring, 2007
  • Added page comments before <HEAD>, including official language and contact information
  • General cleanup and formatting of code
