Objective:
- A Statement about intended
teaching goal. Optional category as certification frequently (but not
always) identifies the objective.
Majors and Minors, Certification
and Degrees, G.P.A., and class Rank:
- First three items important.
G.P.A. and class rank optional. Graduation or certification date important
too.
Teaching Experience:
- Student teaching, interning,
possibly practicum work
Activities:
- Consider activities section
that might include University or College involvement, Volunteer Experience,
and General Work Experiences as sub-headings.
Work Experiences:
- Consider categories:
Work Experience Related to Teaching, Coaching Experience, and General Work
Experience which would include summer or part time jobs.
Describing Work Experiences:
- Use short phrases beginning
with action verbs such as: tutored diverse students in reading lab, assisted
students in adjusting to living overseas, observed, assisted in teaching
at-risk and students with special needs, directed church choir, coached
football team, or others.
Skills, Talents, Attributes:
- This is a great category to
include. For skills consider: proficient with computer programs
including word-processing, spreadsheets, internet, data-entry, PowerPoint, and
Excel, Front Page, web-page designing skills. For talents: Vocalist,
Instrumentalist-guitar, Photographer, proficient in German, Artist. For
attributes consider: versatile and flexible, life long learner, collaborative,
team leader.
Memberships and Honors:
- These categories are
important. Professional Memberships indicate professional commitment.
Consider memberships related to teaching, but also membership in organizations
that might reveal other skills such as leadership. Include offices held.
