Susan Ohanian, like Alfie Kohn, speaks with determination against the standards movement.  Her books include:  One Size Fits Few: The Folly of Educational Standards and Caught in the Middle: Nonstandard Kids and a Killing Curriculum, both published by Heinemann. And her latest, What Happened to Recess and Why are Our Kids Struggling in Kindergarten published by McGraw-Hill.  This book won Notable Books for 2002 recognition from the American School Board Journal.
