You will create an individual blog in order to
share your ideas with others. For the purposes of our assignment, you have
been placed in blog groups. This does not mean that you won't, or cannot, get
feedback from friends or other classmates, or even from those who are
outsiders. You have been placed in a blog group so that you have are assured
of some valuable feedback
-- peers are directed to check in at regular intervals and offer you some
feedback, or even piggyback off of your ideas as they respond to you
personally.
The "big questions" you were given to
ponder and answer are important ones. As thoughts travel around your head, as you
discover stellar resources you want to share or ones that support your
views, or as you develop reasoned and researched opinions, use your blog
space to offer up your ideas and get some feedback from your peers before
you hand in your final paper.
Rules of engagement
- Within the bounds of professional behavior, using good taste and
common sense judgment, you can personalize your blog space anyway you like
and develop a style of dialogue and communication that is the best expression of
who you are professionally and personally. However, unlike D2L, please
remember that your blog space is public. This means when you
write something, or express an opinion, anyone with a computer from around
the world can see it, read it, and respond to your thoughts and ideas.
May I suggest that you type you thoughts into a
word processing document and proof it before posting. At a minimum, I
ask you to post no less than 4 times over the course of the
semester. These postings should be spaced out and not bunched in one time
interval and should be agreed on by your group. Please adhere to the beginning and ending schedule in your
packet.
Choose those questions or related topics
you are passionate about or have strong opinions to share in your blog. When
you have posted something, also remember to give me and the members of your blog group
an emailed "heads up." There is nothing worse than being ready to share an
idea, resources, answers to life's tough questions, put it out there, and
then have no one read your thoughts or offer feedback.
Before posting please read these resources on
'Netiquette, and blog etiquette!
