Hands Shaking

The School of Education is the home for several significant grant programs and for two state-wide educational programs.

The Gifted and Talented Network offers outreach activities in gifted education including College Days for Kids and Youth in College. Both programs are designed for gifted youth to have enriched educational experiences. College Days for Kids is a short-term, on-campus experience, while Youth in College a two-week summer experience.

Wisconsin Creative Problem Solving Program is the state headquarters for Destination ImagiNation (DI) and First Lego League. WCPSP supports state-wide competitions and hosts the state DI competition each spring.

Project Forward is a federally-funded grant program supporting Hmong-American students seeking teaching certification.

The CELT grant is a collaborative initiative between faculty on campus and the Stevens Point School district.

In addition, student organizations are a vital contribution to students’ pre-professional experiences. The School of Education sponsors the following Student Organizations: Student Wisconsin Education Association, Student Council for Exceptional Children, Kappa Delta Pi, and Association for the Education of Young Children.
