Messages from Dr. Gould to kids

image

Let me introduce myself. I'm Dr. Gould and I will be taking Dr. Kennedy's place at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. My previous home was Salt Lake City, where I was a junior high teacher for many years. Don't ask how many!!! I've been teaching at a university in rural Kansas for the last three years and now I'm here in Wisconsin. Dr. Kennedy worked very hard to make sure there were programs for gifted kids in the Stevens Point area, and I'm going to try just as hard to do the same thing.

Below you will find several messages on this web site from me. When I was in school, I spent some of my time in regular classes, special classes for advanced and gifted students, and honors classes. However, no one really explained anything to me. These messages are mainly written for kids who are in the late elementary years to the early junior high years, but anyone is welcome to read them. They are designed to explain some of the important things about giftedness to you and may help you understand yourself. Feel free to send me an e-mail message if you have another subject that you would like written about.

I'm just getting to know the community, but I look forward to meeting many of you at the College Days for Kids program or the Youth in College program.
