First, create a new folder for the artifact. In that folder, save this page under a new name(e.g., romeo_juliet_lesson.htm). That way you can use this template again and again.

Second, create a link from the "Performance Tasks" breadcrumb above to the Performance Tasks page where you're listing this artifact.

Third, create a link from the Performance Tasks page to this cover page.

Here is a sample artifact.

Synopsis

Describe this artifact, in about 1-2 paragraphs of about 2-5 sentences each. Specifically... Describe the context in which you created this artifact (e.g., for a UWSP course, during student teaching). Describe the learning objective(s). Especially describe any creative, clever, and/or unique aspects of this artifact. Finally, if you taught something, describe how well the lesson(s) went, especially big successes and/or challenges. Don't use the real names of any people or places in your Synopsis or Reflection.

This would be a good place for an image, especially of your students and/or instructional materials. Only use an image of a child if you have the parent/guardian's permission.

Reflection

Describe what you learned as a professional, in about 1-2 paragraphs of about 2-5 sentences each. Especially describe useful insights about this specific content area, and/or about teaching and learning in general. Where appropriate, refer to one or more Wisconsin Teacher Standards in parentheses. Where appropriate, connect to issues of exceptional needs, diversity, and/or other human equity issues.

Don't be afraid of appearing less than perfect. Principals want to hire teachers who actively reflect and then improve (WTS 9/Reflection).

Materials

Create one or more links to the artifact. If the artifact isn't a webpage (e.g., Word document, PowerPoint show), print to PDF first. Then link from this page to the PDF. Don't create webpages in Word or PowerPoint.
