Bio
Cate worked in several school districts as a special
educator and most recently, Title 1 Teacher and Reading Specialist in the
Appleton Area School District. Since 2007, Cate has been an active reading faculty member and involved in various community organizations. She
enjoys working closely with area schools through the Central Wisconsin
Reading Council (CWRC) and various partnerships, specifically the
P.A.W.s Literacy lab housed in St. Stanislaus Elementary School. The lab
is home to EDUC 302: Methods and Materials for Teaching Reading I. This
type of situated learning environment offers Cate and preservice
teachers a place to discuss, share, and apply best literacy practices
among elementary students and teachers.
