Wautoma After School Program

​The A+ After School Program in Wautoma, WI is looking to recruit current college students, recent graduates or interns to provide enrichment activities and/or academic support for our students enrolled in the after school program for the 2014-15 school year and beyond. We are interested in offering a variety of enrichments and therefore could use the expertise of nearly any subject of study, which in turn would provide an opportunity for college students to share their knowledge and gain experience working/teaching in their field.  

Categories of enrichments that we are looking to expand on? Such as: Science, Language & Culture (Spanish, Sign Language, etc.), Social Skills, Environmental education, Youth Development, Sports/Fitness/Recreation, & Leadership .

Mead Elementary School Family Science Night

​Mead School in Wisconsin Rapids is having a Family Science Night on Thursday, April 24 . We are looking for volunteers to help by standing at a booth and greeting families and students from 3:50-4:40 p.m.

Howe Elementary School Annual Carnival

​Howe Elementary School in Wisconsin Rapids is holding its annual carnival later this month on Friday, April 25.  We are seeking volunteers to help run games that night from 5-8 p.m. Volunteers can decide to help all night or run one-hour shifts. Become a Service Leader

The UW-Stevens Point SIEO Volunteer Office has two on-going service opportunities.

Community Enhancement Leader:

The Community Enhancement Leader will have the opportunity to build a strong relationship with specific community partners by leading a group of volunteers once a month at a particular community partner site. Current community partnerships include the Hope Center and the Portage County Humane Society. (Additional sites may be considered as the program develops.) Commitment: One day of the month, around 2 and a half hours.

There is a $150 stipend included with this position. (Almost equivalent to $9 an hour.) 

Alternative Spring Break Leader 

The Alternative Spring Break leader has the ability to assist with the planning, coordination and facilitation of a 2015 Alternative Spring Break trip. The location of the trip will be determined after the leader is selected. Commitment: Attend the Alternative Spring Break trip. You get to attend the service trip for free.
