Listening Test - Pre-registration is not required. This test lasts approximately 50 minutes and is designed to check your listening comprehension skills. (NOTE: Students who have failed the test once or have received special permission to take it a second time must make a special appointment at least five days prior to the application deadline in Room 469 CPS.) Special accommodations are available for students with documented disabilities or English as a Second Language–consult personnel in Room 469 CPS.

Pre Professional Skills Test (Praxis I) - Reading, Writing and Math - Visit the Educational Testing Service (ETS) website: www.ets.org/praxis. You can also take the PPST on the computer by making an appointment. Call UWSP Testing Services at 715-346-4472, located on the third floor of Delzell Hall, for an appointment or see the PPST website for other sites. Appointments are limited. We suggest calling 4-6 weeks in advance.
There is a cost associated with this test: Computer version: (register by phone or online) - $130 if all three tests are taken on the same date, $160 if the tests are split up. Written version (register online) - $170. Special accommodations are available for students with documented disabilities or English as a Second Language. Accommodation forms are available on the ETS website and it can take 2-4 months to get accommodations approved by ETS.

Pre-Professional Interview - This Pre-Professional interview is required for all students majoring in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Exceptional Education and Physical Education. This one-on-one interview lasts approximately 30 minutes. The fee is $30.00. Dates and times for interviews are available at the beginning of each semester and prior to the Professional Education application deadlines. Interviews will be available every month except July. You must bring $30.00 to 469 CPS to register for the interview if you are currently a UWSP student. Students not currently registered at UWSP may call our office to register. Questions? Professional Writing Competency Program - This program is for students who do not meet the Freshman English requirement to apply to the Professional Education Program. It typically takes a full semester to get through this program. Go to room 469 CPS for information on registering for this program. There is a fee involved.
Technology Workshop - This workshop is for those students needing to meet the technology requirement to apply to the Professional Education Program. After Spring 2008, the Technology workshops will be given in August, September, January, and February. There is no fee for the Technology Workshop. Students must register through the Undergraduate Advising Office 24 hours prior to the start of the workshop date, 715-346-2040, room 469 CPS to attend the workshop.
NOTE: If you have completed Education 205 at UWSP with a grade of "B-" or better by the application deadline, you do not need this workshop. All students must complete Education 205 prior to student teaching.
