Mobility Alert Announcement
We were informed that the following elevators will be down for both replacement and upgrades during part of this summer, 2015:
- The Trainer Natural Resources Building (TNR) old elevator will be going down Monday May 18th for the new elevator installation. The project should take approximately 4 weeks and will hopefully be back up and running by June 17th.
- The rough dates for the Communication Arts Center (CAC) elevator being down for the upgrade are approximately June 2nd thru July 15th.
If a student has a summer class in either the TNR or CAC (other than the first floor), and the stairs present a barrier for them, please email Jim Joque, DATC Director (at firstname.lastname@example.org) soon. He will follow-up with it to assure access to class.
The following closures will occur beginning Monday (July 6):
- West entrance to Student Services Center-SSC closed: ("Construction on the West Entrance by Enrollment Services and Financial Aid begins on Monday. The entrance will be closed while demolition, replacement of the exterior concrete pad, flooring and doors is underway." A time frame for completion of the project was not given.)
If needing entry to SSC, enter by way of the accessible East Entrance on Fremont Street.
- Elevator shut down in Old Main: ("The Old Main elevator upgrade project will start on Monday, July 6. The elevator is scheduled to be out of service from July 6 through September 15. We will do everything possible to resume the elevator service sooner. Periodic schedules will be provided to keep up-to-date of our progress. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please contact John Harper at Facilities Services with any questions.")
There is no other access to all floors in Old Main other than by stairs. Should you have transactions in Old Main during this time and are unable to use the stairs, please contact the person directly, and they will make arrangements to meet in the Student Services Center 103J-Conference Room.
