UWSP Psychologist, Dr. Tim Klement presents on how to recognize attention-deficit disorder and discusses treatments, tips and strategies that may be helpful to those affected and those concerned with helping them.

An American Resurrection: One Man’s Journey from Child Abuse and Mental Illness to Salvation
International keynote speaker, Eric Arauz overcame devastating child abuse at the hands of a mentally ill father who attempted to end his life at the age of 12. As an adult, Eric was diagnosed as Bipolar, having Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and an alcohol and drug addiction. Eric has overcome mental illness and his own addictions to become the successful man he is today.

The Visible and Invisible Wounds of Wounded Warriors
Wendy Burdick, AW2 Advocate for the U.S. Army Wounded Warrior Program, and Keith Iris, Readjustment Counselor for the Wausau Vet Center, OIF veteran and UWSP alumni, will present on the trials and tribulations of returning wounded warriors from war. Keith will focus on their readjustments back into civilian life as citizens and students in higher education, as well as focusing on families of wounded warriors. Wendy will provide an overview of the US Army Wounded Warrior Program (AW2). AW2 is the official program that serves severely wounded, injured and ill soldiers, veterans and their families who are suffering from combat and non-combat injuries with local ongoing support and resources to assist them in building paths to independence.
