 Requirements

All students residing on campus are required to participate in the dining program for the entire academic year as outlined by the University of Wisconsin System. A dining contract is effective for one academic semester.

For more information on residency requirements, please see the Residential Living page.

Residents of Hyer Hall and the Suites @201 are exempt from this requirement unless otherwise notified.

 Dining Plan Changes

You may change your dining plan until 3:00pm the Friday prior to the beginning of the semester by emailing the PointCard office (pco@uwsp.edu) from your UWSP email account and requesting the change.. Changes are not permitted during the first week of the semester, but changes will be accepted during the second and third weeks. Please be aware that you may see an additional charge or refund on your tuition bill depending on how many meals and Dawg Dollars you have used prior to the change. Changes to plans can be made at the PointCard Office in the DUC. If you do not select a plan you will be automatically assigned to the 200 Block plan.

 Block Dining Plans

A Block plan provides you with a set number of meals to be used throughout the entire semester. The plan options are:

(available to ALL residential students)
*Cost # of Meals Meals/Week Dawg Dollars Cost per Meal

Three Ways to Use Block Meals

Meals are swipes available for use at DeBot's all-you-care-to-eat Residential Dining Hall.

Pointer Plates are value bundles that include an entrée and drink, with the addition of side items for some bundles. Pointer Plates are available in most retail locations and are equivalent to one meal swipe. Please see each location for complete menus and dining period times.

Swipe Trades provide for a cash value of $4.25 at any UDS retail location. If your purchase exceeds $4.25, the balance can be paid with cash, credit card, Dawg Dollars, PointCash, or an additional swipe trade.
Please note there is no cash refund for the difference if the item costs less than $4.25 while using a swipe trade.

Off-Campus Student & Staff Meals Plans

Off-campus students and staff can add a dining plan by contacting the PointCard Office. Off-campus students and staff may choose from any residential plan or the following:

Off-Campus Dining Plan Cost
25 meals $160
50 meals $310
75 meals $450

General Information

In addition to the cost of food, plan fees cover operational expenses including: debt service, rent, utilities, wages & benefits, supplies, equipment, cleaning, maintenance, insurance and UW System overhead.

Each day is broken into four meal periods depending on location. Meal periods are breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night. You may use up to 12 meal swipes per day. Please refer to our locations page for operating hours.

Unused meals do not roll over to the following semester, so it is important to determine which plan fits your academic schedule, extracurricular activities, and weekend travel plans.

You can check your meal balance at any UDS register, in the PointCard Office or online by logging into your account on the PointCard Office website.

Dawg Dollars accompany some dining plans and provide the freedom to purchase any item at UDS dining locations.  Dawg Dollars are worth one dollar each and purchases are tax exempt. You may also use Dawg Dollars for non-alcoholic food purchases in the Brewhaus. Dawg Dollars roll over from the fall to the spring semester as long as a new dining plan contract is signed. All Dawg Dollars must be used by the end of the spring semester and do not carry over.

PointCash is accepted at all dining locations, along with several other areas on campus and a number of restaurants off campus. Visit the PointCard Office for a complete list.
