For about the last five years, UWSP has allocated about $250,000 to subsidize upgrading faculty computers. The CPS share is about $42,900, based on CPS percentage of faculty. Often departments cost-share with this subsidy. In conjunction with George Heeres, department heads determine in the spring of each year (April 1) how many upgrades they anticipate needing. Although IT processes the orders in the summer, departments may use previous year or next year's budget for any matching monies needed.
