Is this program right for me?
If you are a traditional student and have completed or are nearing completion of your associate
degree and want to stay in the Wausau area this program is for you.
If you are a working adult and are ready to finish your degree this
program will definitely suit your needs.
Where do I begin?
Make an advising appointment at UWMC with Lynn Kordus at
715-261-6380
lynn.kordus@uwc.edu. Bring a copy of your
transcripts in order to begin the credit evaluation process and to
determine your course sequence. You will be a UWMC student
until you complete your associate degree. While you are
working on your associate degree you may apply to UWSP and declare
your major.
Can I
take courses from both campuses at the same time?
Yes. While you are completing your associate degree, you may
enroll in the core business courses under a special student status
without having to apply to UWSP. However, the sooner you apply
to UWSP, the better we can meet your advising needs and plan for a
smooth transfer saving you time and money.
What if I
have bachelor's degree in a field other than business?
Come back to school and earn your UW business degree. Make an
advising appointment at UWMC with Lynn Kordus at 715-261-6380
lynn.kordus@uwc.edu. Bring a copy of your
transcripts in order to begin the credit evaluation process and to
determine your course sequence.
How soon
can I complete my degree?
This will vary based on your schedule. Students who have
completed their associate degree will be
able to earn their bachelor's degree in two to three years.
What are students saying about our program?
"Principles of Management was an excellent course. It was very well instructed and the requirements were not impossible to achieve. Overall I think that this is one of the most interesting courses I have taken. I took it because I needed to, but learned far more than I anticipated."
"I was very excited to have Principles of Management offered here in Wausau because I was able to take an extended lunch hour at work and come to class. I am a full-time employee and my supervisor allowed me the long lunch so I could better my education. But, if I had to drive to Point to take the class, I would not have followed through with getting my degree. I am also a non-trad. I have a husband and two kids at home who need me. Having Point classes here in Wausau has been a great convenience for me. Thank you for going through with it."
"As a condition of admittance into an MBA program, I needed two business courses to supplement a liberal arts BA. UW-Stevens Point’s outreach in Wausau provided me with classroom learning opportunities conveniently near where I live and work. It has been a great educational experience."
