Description:

** THIS COURSE IS HELD ON THE UW-MARATHON COUNTY CAMPUS IN WAUSAU.

This course critically evaluates the development of the American economy and the evolution of business systems from its colonial roots to the present.  It focuses on the historical transformation of firms, markets, and government.  In doing so, the course analyzes how business practices and organization have changed in response to new opportunities and challenges. 

The class also studies the role government plays in influencing business choices and how that role has changed over time.  In addressing these areas, the course explores the microeconomic sources of economic growth.
