Description: Modern papermaking is an industry that produces products from renewable forest resources making it a sustainable industry. It is an enterprise where professional employees are required to be conversant in the scientific disciplines of chemistry, biology, mathematics, and physics. Frequently these professionals are process engineering or chemical engineering with an extended background in cellulose and wood.

The purpose of this course is to inform high school teachers about the multidisciplinary nature of modern papermaking and prepare them to advise students about the diverse careers available in this area.
