Field Research from the Amazon: What to do with Material
Culture? (Anthropology)

This workshop involves students working with indigenous artifacts
from the Amazon, trying to decide how to classify them, how to
distinguish the materials used and how to take good notes on the
production and cultural significance of objects. The items are
made from natural forest products and include bird feathers, seeds
and shells, as well as glass beads, wood and fibers.

of a “warm mouse” to that of a “cold mouse.” Each group

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is considering the
first manned space voyage to the planet Mars. In this session, you
will be part of an engineering design team that has been assigned the
task of designing the framework for assembling Mars vehicle.
Learning to Think Like a Psychologist

how Psychologists use scientific methods to gain information and
knowledge about human thinking and behavior. This will be
accomplished through the completion of a series of hands-on

participants with a greater understanding of what it means to think
