Innovative Pre-Conference Workshops including:
Adventure Education-Dave Lockett, Stevens Point Area School District
This pre-conference will show participants how to build a K-12 adventure program for your students, including equipment, strategies, and training. You will get materials and ideas you need to get started.
Cost $40 for WAHPERD Members; $50 for Non-Members
Building Skill-based Health Education Lessons and Units Using the New National Standards- Tracy Caravella UW-La Crosse and Emily Holder DPI
The presenters will bring back a special training from Atlanta and apply it to our state; Many handouts will be provided.
Fee: This workshop is free to those who pay to attend the symposium on July 30-31. $50 for WAHPERD Members if you are attending this workshop only; $60 for Non Members

Goals of the Symposium:
- Participants will develop skills to enhance their ability to excite young people about their physical and nutritional health.
- Participants will incorporate teaching strategies to improve instructional practice in their field of physical and health education.
- Participants will incorporate cutting-edge techniques on ways to connect physical activity and healthy nutrition into their daily lives.
