  • Participants will develop skills to enhance their ability to excite young people about their physical and nutritional health.
  • Participants will incorporate teaching strategies to improve instructional practice in their field of physical and health education.
  • Participants will incorporate cutting-edge techniques on ways to connect physical activity and healthy nutrition into their daily lives.

Health Education Curriculum Analysis Tool (HECAT)
The purpose of the HECAT, developed by the CDC, Division of Adolescent and School Health, is to help state and district health education curriculum specialists choose or develop curricula that contain the same characteristics that have been found to effectively promote healthy behaviors among young people. Each participant will receive and ATODA curriculum and the HECAT document for your use. Cost is free if you attend the symposium or $50 if you just come for this valuable workshop.  Limited to 35 participants.

 Note that these courses are available only for the July 28-30 Best Practices in Physical Education and Health Workshop. Participants interested in this course must register for the Best Practices workshop. Tuition for this course is in addition to the workshop registration fee.

Special Credit Course Fellowship
