Tutoring

Energetic, experienced university students will work one-on-one with K-12 students to help them understand classroom topics and assignments, work on special projects, prepare for tests, and develop study skills. Our experienced tutors are UWSP students with GPAs of 3.5 or higher (4.0 in their subject areas), and are recommended by university faculty.

Tutoring session times are determined based on student schedules and tutor availability. Choose to meet once per week or more often if desired.

Math, Reading, Spanish, Study Skills, Writing (technical skills/creativity/motivation)

Tutors:

Amanda David (Math)

Amanda is a freshman majoring in English and Secondary Education at UWSP.  She has two years of tutoring experience which she gained as a high school student, especially as a Math tutor in an AIM (Achieving in Math) course.  She has also worked with students in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade, via a youth outreach program at her church.  

Sonia "Sunny" Schneider (Reading, Study Skills, Writing)

Sunny is a senior majoring in History at UWSP. She leads Reading in the Disciplines courses for the UWSP Tutoring and Learning Center (TLC) and is a reading and writing tutor to fellow students. Sunny has also served in the US National Guard and US Army.

Kaylin Wornson (Spanish)

Kaylin earned a B.A. in Spanish and a B.S. in Communicative Disorders - Speech Pathology from UWSP in 2010. She recently returned to UWSP to earn certifications in Secondary Education and ESL Education. She has also studied abroad in Linares, Spain. She has tutored students studying Spanish at both SPASH and UWSP.
