Destination Imagination (DI) is a non-profit, volunteer-led, cause-driven organization whose purpose is to inspire and equip students to become the next generation of innovators and leaders. Annually, they offer seven new standards-based challenges in STEM, improv, visual arts, service learning, and early learning. Each challenge enables student teams to learn and experience the creative process from imagination to innovation.

Pedestrian Mall, Maps, Parking Information and Loading Zones

Pedestrian Mall 

Parking near the Health Enhancement Center will be limited this year.  Fourth Avenue will be a pedestrian mall blocked off from Isadore Street to just before Berg Gym. Only tournament officials, expo and tournament setup vendors, crews and exhibitors with parking passes and the STEM Shuttle will have driving access on Fourth Avenue. To accommodate, limited street access, there are three loading zones for the Health Enhancement Center: Lots F-W, F-E and in front of Berg Gym.

Parking attendants will be located at all loading zones near the Dreyfus University Center, the Health Enhancement Center and the Noel Fine Arts Center.  

​Parking Information 

No parking on the grass or in handicap stalls. Trailers may not block door or garage door entrances. Loading zones are for 20 minutes only.  Attendants will monitor traffic flow.  
Trailers: park in Lots Q.
No parking in Lot F-E and the College of Professional Studies (CPS) Parking Lots without pass. These two lots are reserved for 40 cars for DI Tournament Officials, setup crews and vendors parking.  Parking passes are required for Lots F-E and CPS.  Fourth Avenue will have no access to CPS lot.

All loading vehicles must unload within 20 minutes with flashers on. 
Technical: Parking Lot F-E (in back of Berg Gym) and on Fourth Avenue (in front of Berg Gym)

Facility Reminders from UW-Stevens Point

UW-Stevens Point would like to keep you, your family, spectators, and event staff safe while visiting our university. As visitors, we ask that you protect university equipment, assets, and property, and to not include materials in your challenges deemed hazardous, flammable, or difficult to clean, and to take care of our property while visiting.  
Challenge Masters will run each challenge site, but as visitors, please be aware of the Tournament Expectations prior to visiting campus. The expectations include what can and can occur in each location, information about blocking entrances, hazardous materials, and exterior art pieces and playgrounds.  Thank you for being aware of this information.   

Dining on Campus

Dreyfus University Center Venues*

All second floor food court venues are open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Homegrown Café on the first floor will be open from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. 

Debot Dining Center*

Debot Dining Center. ​Enjoy buffet-style continental breakfast, brunch or dinner.  Purchase dining tickets in Upper Debot and prices are for Adult (A) is age 13 and up.  Youth (Y) is 12 and under.
Dining ticket prices:  
Continental breakfast:  $6.63 (A) and $5.69 (Y) plus tax (8:30 a.m. - 10 a.m.)
Brunch: $7.58 (A) or $6.63 (Y) plus tax (10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
Dinner: $8.53 (A) and $7.58 (Y) plus tax (4 p.m. - 6 p.m.). 

Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority, UW-Stevens Point*

This student organization's fundraiser kiosk will be located across from the Multi-Activity Center (MAC), in the Health Enhancement Center.   

Boy Scout Troop 298*

The troop's fundraiser will be located on Reserve St. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish basement.  Follow the signs. 

Aber Suzuki Center Foundation

The organization's fundraiser will be located in the Courtyard of the Noel Fine Arts Center.

*Voucher Locations 
 Event volunteers with vouchers may use these locations to obtain a complete lunch.  

Award Ceremony

3-4:45 p.m.:​ Quandt Gym closed to public (room preparations)
4:45-5:30 p.m.: Ticketed Entry to Quandt Gym (teams pick up tickets with scores)
5:15-5:50 p.m: Dance Party, Quandt Gym
5:50 p.m.: Tournament Video, Quandt Gym
6:00 p.m.: Ceremony Begins 

The late start time is to help accommodate the number of teams this year. 

Capacity to the Quandt Gym will be monitored this year and for future events. No access to the ceremony without a ticket.  Each teams will be distributed a specific number of tickets. If you will not be at the ceremony, please contact Jean Fugate at tournamentinfo@wisconsindi.org​

The Ceremony will be approximately 1.5-2 hours.​​

Want a fun team break from the tournament or have extra kiddos who need something fun to do? Take a peek in the Quandt Gym and get your kids involved in some creative hands-on activities! The Creativity Expo has a variety of regional organizations and university groups with hands-on exhibits and activities for all ages. Opportunities to learn, have fun, and engage in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), problem-solving, creativity, and performance are all here!  There’s a special place for everyone at the Creativity Expo...even for parents!

UW-Stevens Point is excited to offer some new attractions to tournament visitors in 2016!  Please check back regularly to see what we've added as your event host!​

The Quandt Gym will be entirely closed to the public from 3-4:45p.m. to flip the room to prepare for the Award Ceremony.

Support Dance Marathon! 

Dance Marathon is a student organization who coordinates philanthropic dance events to raise funds and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH). Dance Marathon participants stay on their feet for 5 hours raising money for CMNH. “We dance for those who can’t”. 

Dance Marathon was invited to participate in the 2016 Creativity Expo because they were willing to give up a Dreyfus University Center site reservation to accommodate the tournament. Please come to the Health Enhancement Center Quandt Gym from 10 AM - 3 PM and donate in support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and local children in need.

Showing “Hubble Vision” 
This program looks at the discoveries of the Hubble Space Telescope during it more than 15 years in orbit. Starting in our own solar system the program moves on to look at the stars and how they are born and die. Finally it looks at the wide variety of galaxies. The program finishes by looking at some of the most distant objects yet observed.  

Show times: 10 AM, Noon, 1 PM, 2:30 PM, and 3:30

The University Store is located in the Dreyfus University Center on Reserve Street.  
Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4 p.m. 

Visit Schmeeckle Reserve

Schmeeckle Reserve is a 280 acre natural area with 5 miles of trails and boardwalks, a 24-acre lake, and a large diversity of habitats that support numerous wildlife species. Schmeeckle (shmee-klee) Reserve is managed to protect and restore natural communities of central Wisconsin, serve as an outdoor classroom for learning, and provide outdoor recreation opportunities. 

Visitor Center hours 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.  The Visitor Center is located at 2419 Northpoint Drive across from Sentry World Golf Course.  Trails are open dawn to dusk. Pick up a trail map​ at the visitor center or at trail entrances.

Guided Schmeeckle Reserve Tour: Take a guided tour and hear what happens at Schmeeckle each year! The tour is 45 minutes.  Dress for the weather.

“The Schmeeckle Buzz” Community Program: This program is free and open to the public.  It will introduce you to the problems Schmeeckle’s native bees face and the defenses they have against those threats. The future of our food and flowers depend on bees! This program will explore Schmeeckle Reserve’s trails. Dress for the weather.

Take a Hike...on the Green Circle Trail!
The Green Circle Trail is a natural hiking and biking trail that loops around the Stevens Point area. About 1.4 miles of the Green Circle meanders through the northern part of Schmeeckle Reserve, with easy access to the rest of the trails.
