Wisconsin Destination Imagination
Affiliate Tournament  


Destination Imagination (DI) is a non-profit, volunteer-led, cause-driven organization whose purpose is to inspire and equip students to become the next generation of innovators and leaders.
Annually, they offer seven new standards-based challenges in STEM, improv, visual arts, service learning, and early learning. Each challenge enables student teams to learn and experience the creative process from imagination to innovation.   

Volunteer at this event!

This event needs a lot of volunteers in the areas of event setup, main operations, parking attendants, break room attendants and with event teardown.  One to eight hour positions are available. If you are looking for community service hours or just want to help out for fun, visit the links below.

Parking attendants will be coordinated through UW-Stevens Point.  
All other volunteer positions are coordinated through Wisconsin Destination Imagination Inc.

Get Connected!

The guest wireless network is available in all academic and administrative buildings. Every summer it is also available in the residence halls. This is an open, unsecure network that provides limited access to UWSP resources. UWSP services such as email.uwsp.edu, myPoint.uwsp.edu, and myfiles.uwsp.edu are not available on this network.

To access to the guest wireless network, connect your device to the wireless network connection identified as "UWSP_Unsecure_Guest".  Next, open your web browser and register by entering a valid email address.

Pedestrian Mall

Fourth Avenue will be a pedestrian mall blocked off from Isadore Street to in front of Berg Gym. Only tournament officials, expo exhibitors, tournament setup vendors and crews, the STEM Shuttle or those with parking passes will have driving access on Fourth Avenue. 

Parking attendants will be located at all loading zones near the Dreyfus University Center, the Health Enhancement Center and the Noel Fine Arts Center.

Any vehicle found in violation of the "no parking areas" below will risk team point deductions at the tournament

No Parking Areas:

  • Any Loading Zone (Loading zones are 20 minutes with flashers on ONLY)
  • On the grass
  • Handicap stalls
  • In front of any garage door
  • In front of any handicap accessible entrance
  • CPS Parking Lot on Fourth Avenue
  • Pedestrian Mall on Fourth Avenue (Fourth Avenue from Isadore to Berg Gym) 
  • Lot F-E (Reserved for Tournament Officials needing access to the Heath Enhancement Center)
Lot F-E and the College of Professional Studies (CPS) Parking Lots are reserved for Tournament Officials, setup crews and vendors.  Parking passes are required for Lots F-E and CPS.  

Trailer Parking: 

Trailers may park in Lot Q.
UW-Stevens Point does not have a Lot X any longer with the contruction of our new science building.  Lot X was our largest parking lot near the Health Enhancement Center and Science Building. 

Facilities Uses and Tournament Day Expectations for Visitors to UW-Stevens Point Campus

UW-Stevens Point would like to keep you, your family, spectators, and event staff safe while visiting our university. As visitors, we ask that you protect university equipment, assets, and property, and to not include materials in your challenges deemed hazardous, flammable, or difficult to clean, and to take care of our property while visiting.  
Challenge Masters will run each challenge site, but as visitors, please be aware of the Tournament Expectations prior to visiting campus. The expectations include what can and can occur in each location, information about blocking entrances, hazardous materials, and exterior art pieces and playgrounds.

The following venues accept lunch vouchers provided to tournament volunteers by WIDI Inc. 

Dreyfus University Center Food Court

The food court is located on the second floor.  Venues are open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Homegrown Café on the first floor will be open from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. 
Located on Reserve St. 

Debot Dining Center

Debot Dining Center:  Located behind the Health Enhancement Center on Isadore St. 

Lower Debot: American cuisine including an open grill, deli and pizza in Lower Debot. (11 a.m. - 11 p.m. Grill opens at noon) 

Upper Debot:  Enjoy buffet-style continental breakfast, brunch or dinner.

Purchase dining tickets for Upper Debot.  Prices are for Adult (A) is age 13 and up.  Youth (Y) is 12 and under. Dining Ticket Prices:  

  • Continental breakfast:  $6.63 (A) and $5.69 (Y) plus tax (8:30 a.m. - 10 a.m.) 
  • Brunch: $7.58 (A) or $6.63 (Y) plus tax (10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
  • Dinner: $8.53 (A) and $7.58 (Y) plus tax (4 p.m. - 6 p.m.).

  • Open 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish Basement on High and Reserve Streets.

Want a fun team break from the tournament or have extra kiddos who need something fun to do? Take a peek in the Quandt Gym and get your kids involved in some creative hands-on activities! The Creativity Expo has a variety of regional organizations and university groups with hands-on exhibits and activities for all ages. Opportunities to learn, have fun, and engage in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), problem-solving, creativity, and performance are all here!  There’s a special place for everyone at the Creativity Expo...even for parents!

The Quandt Gym will be entirely closed to the public from 3-4:45p.m. to flip the room to prepare for the Award Ceremony.

Visit Schmeeckle Reserve

Schmeeckle Reserve is a 280 acre natural area with 5 miles of trails and boardwalks, a 24-acre lake, and a large diversity of habitats that support numerous wildlife species. Schmeeckle (shmee-klee) Reserve is managed to protect and restore natural communities of central Wisconsin, serve as an outdoor classroom for learning, and provide outdoor recreation opportunities. 

Visitor Center hours 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.  The Visitor Center is located at 2419 Northpoint Drive across from Sentry World Golf Course.  Trails are open dawn to dusk. Pick up a trail map​ at the visitor center or at trail entrances.

Take a Hike...on the Green Circle Trail!
The Green Circle Trail is a natural hiking and biking trail that loops around the Stevens Point area. About 1.4 miles of the Green Circle meanders through the northern part of Schmeeckle Reserve, with easy access to the rest of the trails. 2017 Natural History Museum Collection Crawl! 

This year’s featured collection is Geology, curated by Dr. Kevin Hefferan.

The UW-Stevens Point Museum of Natural History invites you to the 2017 Museum Collection Crawl on Saturday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  This year’s featured collection is Geology, curated by Dr. Kevin Hefferan.

Visit our beloved exhibits and museum gift shop and be guided through our featured Museum Collections!  UW-Stevens Point students will be on hand to introduce you to our vast research collections, which have remained largely the domain of our scientists and student researchers. This is the really, really cool stuff!

Begin the crawl by picking up a passport in the Albertson Learning Resources Center (the university library) on the first floor.  Your passport will indicate the locations of all the collections featured.  Faculty and student researchers will show you the collections of the museum and stamp your passport along the way!
