Conference Details

The Wisconsin Society of American Foresters is hosting the 2012 Red Pine Symposium to discuss the current science and management recommendations for the growth and health of Red Pine in Wisconsin. 

Red pine has been and continues to be one of the most economic and ecologically important species in the Lake States.  Red pine is valued for its wood as well as its ability to reclaim previously farmed land.  It is the most widely planted tree species in the Lake States, due in part to planting projects designed to reclaim cutover lands and later as one of the primary species use by forest products industry.

Who Should Attend?

Foresters, Loggers, Land Managers, Natural Resources Professionals, and anyone else who is interested in learning more about the current state of the red pine resource in Wisconsin, and the current science and strategies for its management.

  • Lodging Information-A block of rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn at the rate of $70 per night for single occupancy and $97 for double occupancy.  Rooms are subject to local and state tax.  If individuals are tax exempt, they must provide a copy of their tax exempt certificate at check in. Reservations can be made directly with the hotel until July 12, 2012 by calling (715) 344-0200.  Please make sure to reference the WI Society of American Foresters block to get the conference rate.
