Extending Capabilities in the Classroom and Beyond

Google Docs and Sites have proven to be an indispensable resource for teachers in the creation and management of documents and websites. These tools however are endowed with capabilities not often explored by teachers that can extend teacher effectiveness in the classroom. This workshop, while exploring with participants Google tools they are already familiar with, will investigate how experts use Google in transformative ways to engage students in the classroom.

Instructional Technology Literacy for Educators 

This decade has witnessed unprecedented innovations in technology, and our children have responded to the challenge by embracing technology in very creative ways. It has become a serious challenge to educators since a disproportionate percentage of them fall into the digital immigrant category and are finding it difficult to meet students in their preferred technologically defined learning space. To assist educators DPI has delineated knowledge and skills every educator needs to have to be successful in the classroom of 21st century. The two-day, intensive hands-on workshop is designed to give educators the opportunity to become proficient in every day instructional technology and expose them to emerging technologies making positive impact in the classroom today.

​About the Instructor


 
Kele Anyanwu, Ed.D.

Kele joined UW-Stevens Point in January 2013. He graduated with a doctorate degree in education (Ed.D.) Curriculum and Instruction with specialization in Instructional Technology from University of Houston. His areas of research include technology integration in education, cloud computing in education, and online professional development.
