Description: 50 Favorites - 1. Horn of Plenty has been one of the most popular patterns with collectors since the 1920s. Ruth Webb Lee ranked it #4 in her Antiques article, “The Popular Ten in Pattern Glass” (August 1937). In Early American Pressed Glass she states that, “it is one of the patterns most in demand today, the plates having commanded a higher price, for a time, than those of any other design.” Lee goes on to describe the pattern's early popularity, how it was produced in great quantities and a wide variety of forms, making it possible for collectors to assemble complete table sets. ...Non-lead reproductions were first made about 1933. (50 Favorites catalogue) M1, p. 12 Also called COMET. U2 p.43 Brilliant, heavy, early flint. (Unitt)
