50 Favorites - 49. FROSTED RIBBON
Confusion has existed regarding the various designations applied to a pattern of alternating frosted and clear vertical bars. A version of this patter, attributed to Bakewell, Pears & Company of Pittsburgh, was called “Ribbon” by Ruth Webb Lee, S. T. Millard and Alice Hulett Metz. In its most famous form it appears as a compote with a RIBBON pattern bowl joined to a dolphin-shaped stem and round foot. (50 Favorites catalogue)
