Rita Crooks is a watermedia artist who is a Signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the San Diego Watercolor Society as well the U.S.A. Honor Society.She has exhibited in the Rocky Mountain Watermedia Exhibitions, the National Watercolor Oklahoma Exhibitions and has been in "Culture and Agriculture" at the New Visions Gallery in Marshfield numerous times. She was featured in the October issue of "Country Woman" magazine in 2008 and also in the December, 2009 issue of "Watercolor " magazine in the article, "Ones to Watch."
After completing her art major at UWSP in 1981, Rita founded the Center for the Visual Arts in her hometown of Wausau. She has continued to be active in that organization. She received the "Woman of Vision Award" from the YWCA in 1996. Rita's paintings are in many offices, medical facilities, public buildings and private collections throughout the country.
