Dear Friend of the Arts:
2010 celebrates the 38th year for the Festival of the Arts. This year it will take place Sunday, March 28th, 10:00am to 4:00pm in the Noel Fine Arts Center on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
This event has become known as the first major art festival of the season calendar for all Midwest artists. We maintain a reputation of quality, original and unique art works for sale, representative of 50 to 55 select artists.
Financial support has helped us promote the festival in a variety of ways . . . . advertising, postage, printed material, supplies for children’s art activities, plus food and refreshment for the artists.
Through the Silent Auction of artists' donated works, the most important way financial support has been used is for student scholarships awarded to UWSP students who excel in music, drama, and art and have unmet financial need. Because of your generous support in the past, we have expanded the scholarship grants to theater, dance, music, graphic design and studio art. We are now also able to offer a $600.00 scholarship for students in Portage County to attend the High School Summer Art Camp at UWSP. The festival also supplies monetary awards to the Emerging Artist Show held at the Stevens Point Riverfront Arts Center; March 1 to 27, 2010. This show directly highlights secondary art students in the Stevens Point Public School District
The Art$ (Art Dollars) promotion will again be offered this year. Up until the the festival date, we will be promoting the sale of Art$, $25.00 for a $20.00 price. See link above for more information.
