Join our tradition of over 50 years in quality music experiences!

This year’s camp has been redesigned and will focus on improvisation, innovation, self-expression, and self-discovery. Instrumental and vocal campers will learn innovative techniques and have several performance experiences, such as the unique opportunity for all campers (regardless of instrument) to join small jazz combos. Our most popular features will return such as concert band, choir, and the jazz ensembles.

The camp is designed to meet individual goals and interests. Campers will participate in daily master classes, have lessons with music professors (at no additional charge), and have afternoon practice time to work on compositions and techniques. Campers will also have the opportunity to work in a variety of chamber groups. Elective workshops, such as “Artists and Art in Society,” will round out the day. Evening activities will include a bonfire, collective composing, jam session, dance, and a student/faculty showcase.

Skill evaluations will be held on Sunday. (Don’t worry, we just want to get to know you and your playing ability.) You will hear about all the camp offerings and plan your schedule on Sunday.

Featuring Artists in Residence

Africa→West

Performing at jazz festivals and in world music venues as well as at universities and public schools, the Africa West Percussion Trio - Jamie Ryan, Ryan Korb and Josh Ryan - is dedicated to the performance of African and Afro-Caribbean styles of music in addition to Western classical music for percussion. Among many other concerts, the trio was invited to play at the Percussive Arts Society’s International Convention. Their unique arrangements of folkloric styles are influenced by the members’ studies abroad and with master musicians in African and Afro-Cuban genres, their backgrounds as classical and jazz musicians, and how their style of music has been shaped by the experiences of Africans in the Western Hemisphere. They bring Africa to the West like you’ve never heard before!
