Kristine Euclide
General Counsel
Madison Gas and Electric Company

Kristine Euclide has been Vice President/General Counsel of Madison Gas and Electric Company (MGE) since 2001 and is also a MGE Foundation Director. MGE is an investor-owned utility providing natural gas and electric service in south-central and western Wisconsin.

Kristine has over thirty years legal experience, focusing on energy, local government, environmental, and employment law matters. Previously, she was a senior partner with the Madison office of Stafford Rosenbaum, LLP, where she was the firm’s Managing Partner and also led the Government and Utility Law Team. She graduated from the UW Law School in the top ten percent of her class.

Kristine is a frequent presenter on business ethics, energy, local government, and environmental law topics for the Law School, Business School, and the State Bar. She has long been active in many professional and civic activities at a state and local level.

Kristine is married and has two children. She and her husband, Doug Steege, have long been supporters of energy efficiency and renewables. They received state and local recognition in the late 1970s for building one of Wisconsin’s first solar-heated, energy-efficient homes. They dedicate much of their spare time to prairie restoration efforts and enjoying nature.
