Libby Burmaster

Elizabeth (Libby) Burmaster is the president of Nicolet Area Technical College in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.  Mrs. Burmaster came to Nicolet after serving eight years as Wisconsin State Superintendent of Public Instruction.  Prior to becoming DPI Superintendent, Burmaster was the Principal of Madison West High School for 9 years, Principal of Hawthorne Elementary School in Madison for 2 years, and has been a Fine Arts Coordinator, Assistant Principal, Choral and Drama Director, and Vocal Music Teacher at a variety of Madison area PK-12 schools. 

She holds a Master of Science in Education Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Bachelor of Music from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and honorary doctorates from Edgewood College and Beloit College.

Libby is married to John Burmaster and they have three adult children and two grandsons.
