"This initiative is beyond just education; it's about preserving the quality of life we cherish in Wisconsin, while attaining success in the new global economy."

Janet Brandt
Former Director
Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation

Janet Brandt has over 20 years of experience in the design and administration of energy efficiency programs that have captured electric and gas resource savings for utilities and government agencies throughout the country. During Janet’s recent tenure as Executive Director of the Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation (WECC), the organization produced several nationally recognized program designs that helped businesses, farms, industry, schools, local government and consumers save energy and control their utility costs. Janet is a frequent guest presenter at national conferences, educating leaders on the significant role for energy efficiency and renewable energy in reducing carbon emissions and addressing global climate change.

Prior to her work in the energy industry, Janet taught elementary and middle school kids, piloting programs to meet the unique needs of our gifted and talented students and using the “outdoors classroom” to develop a love and understanding of our natural environment. Janet relaxes by taking long-distance runs in the country and caring for the prairie/woodlot homestead she shares with her husband Michael.
