Janet Brandt
Former Director
Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation
Janet Brandt has over 20 years of experience in the
design and administration of energy efficiency programs that
have captured electric and gas resource savings for
utilities and government agencies throughout the country.
During Janet’s recent tenure as Executive Director of the
Wisconsin
Energy Conservation Corporation (WECC), the organization
produced several nationally recognized program designs that
helped businesses, farms, industry, schools, local
government and consumers save energy and control their
utility costs. Janet is a frequent guest presenter at
national conferences, educating leaders on the significant
role for energy efficiency and renewable energy in reducing
carbon emissions and addressing global climate change.
Prior to her work in the energy industry, Janet taught
elementary and middle school kids, piloting programs to meet
the unique needs of our gifted and talented students and
using the “outdoors classroom” to develop a love and
understanding of our natural environment. Janet relaxes by
taking long-distance runs in the country and caring for the
prairie/woodlot homestead she shares with her husband
Michael.
