Executive Director, Farmamerica
James L. Gibson, Ph.D. is a private consultant focusing
on agricultural and natural resources education. He
also serves as Executive Director for
Farmamerica, Minnesota's Agricultural Interpretive
Center. He is a member of the National Visiting
Committee of the
National Science Foundation's Advanced Technological
Education Center in Pulp and Paper Technology and is
also a member of the Postsecondary Education Task Force of
the
National Council on Agricultural Education.
Until recently, Jim served as the Education Director for
Agriculture and Natural Resources with the
Wisconsin Technical College System. During this
time, he was also the principal system advocate for
technical education related to energy conservation and
renewable energy.
Jim earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in
Agricultural Education at
Michigan State
University. He has served as a high school
teacher, college teacher, and as academic administrator
within the
University of Minnesota and Michigan State University.
He has also served as development officer with the
National FFA Foundation and President and CEO of the
Wisconsin
Agribusiness Council and Foundation.
Jim and his wife, Kenna, make their home in Mankato,
Minnesota.
