The ten public school districts geographically located within the
CESA 100 region have been integrating environmental education into their
curricula for the past decade. Unfortunately they have not had the financial
resources to assess student environmental literacy. Results would provide a baseline set of
data, form the foundation upon which future curriculum alterations would be
based (to address deficiencies found), and through a comparison of the
results of students attending schools with various levels of programming in
place provide a means to report on the current status of environmental
education within each school district. Information will be shared via CESA
100 website and presentation at the fall 2009 Wisconsin Association for
Environmental Education (WAEE) annual conference. Project evaluation will be
done via a survey of district curriculum directors. |
