results of the May 2-3, 1995
Summit Conference. About 100 participants
discussed the issues which they
perceived to impact on environmental
education. These issues were
further refined to three driving forces;
namely, leadership,
communication/ coordination, and EE implementation in
schools. Another EE Summit
meeting was scheduled for June 1996 to compare
and weight the various courses
of action to be recommended to the Wisconsin
Environmental Education Board.

Synopsis: This project
developed and implemented innovative new energy
programs that build on past
concepts developed by the Cable Natural History
Museum in 1993-94. The project
reached 1394 middle school students in the
classroom. Evaluations provided
by teachers were overwhelmingly positive an
energy audits conducted by
students showed increased awareness and knowledge
of the relationship between
energy consumption and the environment.
Twenty-two teachers received
follow-up curriculum and evaluations on those
were also very positive.
