Accomplishments

The Wisconsin Environmental Education Board provided the initial funding for many initiatives which have grown into important regional, state-wide, and national environmental education resources including the following:

  • Wisconsin Model Academic Standards for EE
(Department of Public Instruction's recommendations for what students should know and be able to do, what they might be asked to do to give evidence of standards, and how well they must perform.)

  • Wisconsin Green and Healthy School Program
(A web-based, self-paced and voluntary program available to all Wisconsin public and private elementary, middle and high schools. The program is designed to support and encourage schools in their quest for a healthy, safe, and environmentally-friendly learning environment.)

  • Solar Wise for Schools

Through its competitive grant program, the WEEB strives to provide the "seed money" that will move environmental education forward. These are just a few of the many projects that have grown well beyond the initially proposed grant initiative. Please also see the biennial report and grant database portions of the website.
Want to construct a "thank you"/testimonial page that has other specific examples of how the WEEB has helped people. Also maybe a photo-gallery from WEEB projects.
