Need for Sponsorship
The only ongoing funding for this conference pays the coordinator’s salary. All other aspects of the conference are supported by generous sponsors. Every year we must raise enough money through grants and donations to host the event and provide participants an inspiring program. This year’s fundraising goal is $10,000. Your generous support will make a difference to the teachers and students who participate.

Use of Funds
Donations are used for every aspect of holding this conference:

  • Site fees – main hall, breakout rooms, exhibit hall, green power offset
  • Lunch and refreshments for participants
  • Teacher substitute reimbursement – without this, some teachers must use their personal leave time
  • Travel reimbursement for schools – some groups receive no support from their districts
  • Services and supplies – printing and mailing conference materials, office supplies

Benefits to You

  • Investing in the creation of lifelong learners capable of understanding complex systems and their relationship to the environment, communities, and the economy
  • Exposing students to natural resource career opportunities
  • Building leaders who can think critically and respond to today’s problem-solving needs
  • Promoting responsible natural resource management involving informed and active citizens
Other Ways to Help
Non-financial contributions are important and welcome. Consider:
  • Donating a door prize to be given to participants at the close of the conference
  • Contributing in-kind donations (pencils, notepads, other materials/resources related to the conference theme
  • Volunteering for the day of the conference
  • Advertising the conference in your publications, emails, on your web site, etc.
  • Exhibiting at the conference
Sponsors who commit to supporting the conference by August 1, 2008 will have their name and logo printed in the conference registration packet.  Sponsors will also be listed on the web site and will be printed in the conference program.
