2007 Conference Travel and Lodging

Location
The 2007 conference was held at the
Country Springs Hotel Conference & Convention Center in Stevens Point, Wisconsin (1501 North Point Drive).

Lodging
Groups traveling long distances to participate in the conference sometimes stay overnight in the Stevens Point area. There are several hotels in Stevens Point, with room prices ranging from $45 to $80 per night. The Stevens Point Leisure Central web site lists lodging options including descriptions, links to lodging web sites, and an online reservation service. http://www.spacvb.com/hotels.html

Central Wisconsin Environmental Station
As an alternative to hotels, groups are welcome to stay at the Central Wisconsin Environmental Station (CWES), a teaching and learning center located 19 miles east of Stevens Point, on glacial
Sunset Lake. The cost in 2007 was $25 per person which included hostel type bunk bed lodging on Tuesday, November 13th and a hot breakfast early on Wednesday, November 14th. Groups were assigned lodging either in a log cabin or lodge, and may have shared space with another school group if in Walker Lodge. Guests brought their own pillows, blankets/sleeping bag, and toiletries. To learn more about CWES please visit their website at www.uwsp.edu/cwes
