Students and teachers, grades 9-12, were invited to
participate in the 16th annual High School Conference on
the Environment. The 2007 event
was the most interactive conference yet! The
Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education at
UW-Stevens Point is proud to host this leadership
skill-building opportunity.
Each school could send
up to eight
students to the conference. Participants served as
"ambassadors" from their school and were expected to
bring a poster exhibit to share. Teachers were encouraged
to recruit students who have an active interest in the
environment and who show leadership potential.
Individual students or non school-based groups were also
encouraged to participate. It was expected that all
participants would remain at the conference for the
entire program.
The cost of the conference, which
included lunch, was $15 per person if postmarked on or
before October 5, 2007 and $20 per person if postmarked
after October 5, 2007. Groups were turned away due
to high demand the past two years. Registration was
processed on a first-come, first-served basis. The
final deadline for conference registration was October
19, 2007.
Transportation support and
substitute
teacher reimbursement were available to a limited number
of groups who registered early.
