The Governor's High School Conference on the Environment

Wisconsin Center for
Environmental Education

A Message from Governor Jim Doyle

Dear High School Students and Teachers:

I am pleased to invite you to participate in the 2003 Governor's High School Conference on the Environment on December 10, 2003, at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The conference is an excellent opportunity for you to help uphold Wisconsin's long tradition of celebrating and protecting our state's natural resources. The conference theme, Pooling Our Resources: Understanding and Protecting Water in Wisconsin, fits nicely with the designation of 2003 as the Year of Water.

Students will learn just how critical clean water is to our citizens' health, well-being, and quality of life in Wisconsin. Most importantly, they will be encouraged to become involved in community efforts to protect it.

Please join me in encouraging all of your students to become "water ambassadors" by participating in this great opportunity to exchange ideas, information, and inspiration on such an important issue. Thank you.

Sincerely,
