Please note: Eligible schools are those that purchase their electricity from a participating electric utility company within the Focus on Energy territory. | Midwest Renewable Energy and Sustainable Living Fair |
The
Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) will be hosting The 20th
Annual Energy Fair
on June
19-21, 2009.
KEEP will be offering a graduate course at the Fair specifically for technology education instructors - NRES 731. If you need a credit and are interested in learning more about renewable energy and/or sustainable living, you should attend the Fair.

| Technology Guest Speakers |
One of the strongest additions to a technology education classroom can be an energetic guest speaker. Have you considered inviting in an engineer from Toyota to speak to your automotive students about the Toyota Prius and hybrid technologies? What about bringing in a local contractor to share worksite anecdotes with your building trades class? KEEP wants to help you provide these additional learning experiences for your students.

| Conferences |
Every year, KEEP sponsors 3 teachers to attend the annual Better Buildings: Better Business conference, which is held in the Wisconsin Dells. This first-rate learning, networking, and business development opportunity is a wonderful way to learn about energy efficient building practices and get to know the experts in the field. Below are comments from past participants:

Here is a list of activities found in the KEEP Activity Guide and Doable Renewables Activity Guide specifically for the technology education classroom. If you're interested in obtaining the full activity, please register for NR 730 and/or NR 732 (see the Professional Development page for scheduled courses).

The Focus on Energy Business Program has a Tool Lending Library that has many teaching resources available to check out for a period of 28 days or less. These tools include a Data Logger/Monitor, Infrared Thermometer, and Watt Meters. These resources are only available to schools who participate in the Focus on Energy public benefits program. To request equipment, please contact your Focus Energy Advisor. If you aren't sure who your Energy Advisor is, ask your school's facilities or maintenance personnel. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Sara at 715.346.4163.
