Nature Net Do you want to take your class to a nature center? Find one close to you at nature net where they have put together a list of nature centers in your area!

Pinehurst Inn at Pikes Creek Bed and Breakfast, winner of the Lake Superior Bi-National Forum�s 2004 Environmental Stewardship Award, is a facility that uses renewable energy in its daily operations and has incorporated many energy conservation features into its buildings. Wisconsin Solar Tour & Demonstration Sites - The Wisconsin Solar Tour is held each fall to demonstrate that renewable energy is practical, reliable, and affordable in today's economy. To find demonstration sites near you, visit http://www.the-mrea.org/solartour.php.

Xcel Energy offers tours of hydroelectric plants in Chippewa Falls, Menomonie, St. Croix Falls, Wissota and Jim Falls. The free one-hour tour is available to groups of 8 to 25 members, grades 7-12. For more information on tours, please call (715) 839.1473.

Speakers

Steve Sandstrom, Environmental Outreach Coordinator at the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute at Northland College, is available to speak to classes about the use of renewable energy. Steve is also the owner of Pinehurst Bed and Breakfast in Bayfield which uses renewable energy in its operations.
