This is the Energy Rules! index page. To return here use the back button on the browser tool bar or the links found in the side frame and at the bottom of each page.

Unit Goal

Participants will be able to interpret how energy is transferred and converted, and to recognize that there are natural limitations to the amount of energy that can be used.

Unit Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Illustrate how energy can be transferred from one location to another through work and heat transfer.
  • Explain and apply the First Law of Thermodynamics.
  • Explain and apply the Second Law of Thermodynamics and entropy.
